One Month Anniversary back to Singapore
"Happy to be back?"Asked pple here from Singapore
"Have you moved on?"Asked pple from Sweden
The answer is hmmmm I am undecided, but it's my decision to come back so yes I am happy to be back.
Though when I was looking through the fantastic photos that I took when I was in Sweden or traveling to Gotland, Prague, Vienna and Greece, to contribute my share of nice photos to the main page of nomadlife, ahhhhh pls know that I missed you guys so much and love you all.
Today is my One month anniversary back home, think I have adjusted pretty well, though I am not too confident with roads and buses, but will definitely get that back, just thought I would finish with my list of interesting 'findings' that I have from my reintegration back to Singapore:
1) There were no household insects whatsoever in Sweden, probably it's too cold and there are in Singapore.
2) I am having SINUS in the morning and at night before I sleep, my nose is blocked, hattttteee that feeling and the funny thing was when I was in Sweden didn't have that problem at all, my friend who went London experienced the same thing, does it really have to do with humidity or wat?! Probably that's why the concept of tissue paper is more popular here.
3) I have taken the habit to bathe in the morning, which was not the case before, as most Asians bathe at the end of the day before they fall asleep so they will be clean in their clean beds. Well maybe I have to bathe twice then since I need the refreshing bath to wake up in the morning now too.
4) I like to HUG! Think it's a cool thing that I picked up in Sweden where you hug close friends when you meet and say goodbyes, when in Asia a handshake or a wave goodbye is the norm. And oh ya, I have acquired too the 'good manners' from Sweden of introducing myself to every single person of a gathering, even if it's a damn crowded room of strangers, when previously I would just shrink to my comfort group of close friends and be anti social I guess.
5) Subconsciously, I now check the weather report for Sweden as well when I read the local newspapers, I was the previous weather girl within our Elux Stlm community, reporting daily weather updates everyday ha even though it is not accurate.
6) I get totally impatient when waiting for buses and trains now, as in Sweden we are spoilt of being able to map out the exact timing of the public transportation to get from one place to another for example if I were to go from Stadshagen to Gullmarsplan I get a list of timings the trains will leave and the connecting buses as well. Now I just wait…for trains they do display how many minutes left but not for buses, though in all fairness its not long, it's the matter of knowing I guess. On the converse, actually I do know pple in Sweden who are actually more impatient when they know the bus is to come in 2mins, and when it doesn't, they get more pissed than they need be.
7) And to hear the trainees in Singapore saying 'Can?' 'Can la', attempt Singlish, is both amusing and hilarious. While I end my sentences with the infamous 'ya', nasty habit that I picked up from Rajat I think, and pretty infected the rest of our trainee gang back in Stlm.
Lastly, this would be my last week of freedom, as I have to earn my daily noodles/rice/bread starting from next Mon, working for Electrolux in Asia Pacific, here in Singapore, yes my 1st real job in the real world, lets see how it goes.
Ha det bra, good looking pple!
(English translation: Have it good)
PS: Its now a very very weird feeling to blog in your own cty, kinda too close for comfort if you know what i mean :P
