Exciting things that happened to my life recently
was when i went to do a voice-over in MANDARIN ( yes....yes... can u believe it?! ) for a Hong Kong movie trailer last Sunday, at Mediacorp ( Singapore's television station) for " Turn Left, Turn Right," (english translation). So happens that my favorite eye candy actor Takeshi Kaneshiro is in it, so its a bonus ;). If any of it is going to be used at all, its only going to be a few secs max.
But its heaps of fun and definately a new experience :), recording is different from what we see in movies and television where you have a big room with a glass panel in between u and the producer and all, oh well at least not for me, am small fry ya. Just went to a small dark soundproof room with a mic, and i walkie talkied with Mandy, the producer of this trailer who is also my secondary school classmate, where we worked on some chinese poetry cd when we were 14 and thats how she ahem..discovered my "talent" haha shameless i know, but yeah it was fun, been ages since i read chinese text and i wasnt totally sure on the exact pronuciation for some words, since its going be on national tv, you have to be sure rite...definately have to catch up on my chinese reading...and then was reading with the kind of "feel" that she wanted, have to tell myself from giggling and be professional on this i know :)
Actually the voiceover trailer for this movie was ok, it was the other script where i just auditioned for the fun of it as Channel U is looking for a new voice. There was this portion where u have to read with a happy voice, then a sad one then the most hiliarious one was to read a scary ghost trailer,,,,i was cracking up inside hahaha,,,At the end of it, was cool to do something out of the usual desk bound job and earn a little cash while having fun. For pple living in Singapore, will tell you, if any of it comes out at all on Tv, supposed to be out end of next week.:)
