Savings, savings
There is never enough money, all my working friends complain that they have no idea, absolutely no idea where their money went? Food, drinks, entertainment? Hence little or zero savings...Recent stats show that only 24% of Singaporeans plan their retirement.And traditionally our society expects the children to support their parents when they retire,though the elderly are now increasingly expected to be self-sufficient after retirement. The hunt for the pennies still continues, any leads for the lost money is appreciated!

Da reason why it is encouraged for us to start planning for our retirement is becoz it is anticipated that what we earn is not enough to support even our parents, thus let alone letting our children support us in the future.
Where the $$ goes? Just take a look at your room and yourself.
Remember I was calculating how much guys have to save for wedding and girls have to save for housing sharing with their hubbies?
Your reply that time was " that why we always have our parents" So it means that some $$ goes to savings for your children's wedding and housing in the near future? Wow, that's a lot to save babe!

haha dont intend to throw a chinese wedding, so that shd save ALOT of money for my parents, UNLESS they insist on throwing a wedding banquet, of coz they pay! Dont recall about housing...
PS: room furniture everything from IKEA, cheap cheap ok
