Bazaar with Haven

The children home that I am volunteering with, The Haven had a bazaar last Sat to raise funds for the home. We had Hush Puppies as sponsors where they donated shoes which are sold for only $20 to the public, proceeds going to Haven, and of course we also held 2nd-hand stalls, where good stuff was going for $1-$5!Needless to say we the volunteers, bought quite a bit of stuff, seeing how good the things were, afterall it was for charity too.

"We" being, Bulan, Alfy, June and I. I do have kind-hearted souls in my circle afterall..hehe funny though, no Singaporean. Anyways, special kudos have to be given to Ruoxia who went away with 6 pairs of Hush Puppies, and Ignacio for coming a far 2nd at 3 pairs! :)) And due to Alfy's irrestible appeal, our 3 gals, Shweta, Labake and Tatiana came down to support as well.

My Retail Management experiment June, Stella, AlvinAlfy- Eligible Bachelor Bulan with Alvin
Our buys: Other than Bulan who bought 2 pairs of HP, the rest of us came back with funny stuff LOL.Alfy took back a pillow, a lamp and a book. June and hubby took back 4 African wooden tribal-looking status, and I took back clothes, bag and necklace. Boy am I happy with my $1 necklace :))

Reflection: As I sat there, tending the stalls, watching the rain fall twice that day, children running around, spraying "fake" snow at each other, screaming their heads off, everything seems so right.

I realise that I don't need to be successful, or earning a stable income, with no family problems, or have a saving plan to still volunteer to help others who are more needy than me.You just feel happy to be of service to another human being and just making them smile. It is priceless. The excuse of waiting to be more "free" or to be at a more "convenient" stage of your life is not going to happen, as there will always be more important things about YOURSELF to be busy about. Am happy that I took the plunge, you should try it sometimes soon.
