I must be an advertising person's nightmare

I don't read the papers regularly
I don't watch TV much, only movies on HBO/Cable where there are no TV ads, yes not even American Idol :P
I don't read girly magazines
I don't listen to the radio
I plug into my mp3 player when I am out walking in town
I am numb to most entics/ advertising visuals
I detest sms promos, how the hell did they get my number!
I delete product emails almost everytime without reading
I don't enter into lucky draws coz I don't think I am ever that lucky to win
I throw away stamp coupons, Stamp 5 get 1 free kind as I am sure I will forget to bring the card out every time when I buy something
I am in my bubble :)

  • Hey.

    I'm Ces, from @ in the Philippines and guess what;

I don't (get to) read newspapers daily
I don't watch TV AT ALL these days
I never had interest in girly magazines
I don't like listening to the radio
I lost interest in iPods when I lost mine and when I go around town, I space out and think of AIESEC.
I am gullible but advertisements never sell with me
I actually went to my service provider and threatened to sue them if they didn't stop sending me random promo what-nots, they stopped :-D
I have no trace of ANY FORM OF ADVERTISEMENT in my inbox
I don't enter into lucky draws basically because I think it's pure waste of time
I never patronized coupons and I have no intentions of doing that anytime in this life time

I myself am in my bubble

... and guess what, I'm a Mass Communications major.

We obviously have tons to talk about. Add me up: cesemrondario@hotmail.com

    All the best,
    Ces

  • woman, then how do you be a "marketer"? :P

  • hmmm. i study, m'dear. i read and understand the shit i've to and believe me, with my AIESEC experience, i'm bound to score points in my arena later on.

and besides, i've had my days of too much tv and the like. it's not like i've totally zapped out of the communications' world.

just hibernating, i'd like to put it.

  • ...and I'm sure you don't impulse buy at the supermarket checkout hehe

at least you bring perspective to the challenge of marketing to a person who is an advertising person's nightmare?! :p

  • i think there's more to being an "advertiser's nightmare" than just not being aware of media in all it's forms and disciplines.

i'd much rather have someone where media has a very little role in his life than one who plunges in on it without understanding its existence, ie. those who abuse media and doesn't fully recognize the impact it was designed to have on you.

and with the vast range communications has, it's impossible for someone to claim that he has no exposure to it which in my standards fit to a T an advertiser's nightmare. talking is a vehicle for media, com as it is with advertising. now i'm quite sure everyone can do that.

and to answer you question, i do not impulse buy in check out counters.. the contents of my cart however are results of just that.
