A different Sunday

Guess 2007 is off on a great start to keep my lazy ass outta home, by going to brunch with the ladies at this really nice cafe hidden away from the urban side of Singapore, though service is notorious for being slow, we endured and are rewarded with our tasty morsels of food and sinful bacon.

A small regroup after our dear fren, Jessica announced that she is getting married in a week's time and updates from everyone from their holiday trips across the new years.Congrats to Jess for being the 1st one to get hitched! :D

Brunch

Then the more culturally inclined folks of the group, ahem, headed on to check out the new National History Museum of Singapore which I have to say is really an improvement from the old one, after spending tons of money to make it a more tech savvy museum with a more humanistic touch of Singapore from the 60s. There was a feature of fashion, film and food from the 60s on the Singapore way of life, where familiar sights and foods tug the heartstrings of the older generation for sure.

Looking back on all the photos taken in the past, its almost unbelievable that Singapore has become what it is today, from a poor fishing village to this urban jungle of skyscrapers. From poverty, barren land, inter-racial clashes, corruption, occupation by the british and japanese to what it is today. Guess the younger generation really has to look back into the past to further appreciate what we have today, and not take things for granted.

Oh guess who I found in this Swedish innovation lifestyle temp exhibition at the muse. :) An old friend which was roaming around the Elux Swedish Office back then- Mr Trilobite.

So if you havent been to the newly opened National Museum here, be sure to go and learn more about this humid and rainy island.
